March for Life

This picture came from http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2008_docs/Marchphotos.htm
Can you see part of the 225,000 people who marched?

I was led by the Lord to attend the 35th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade by attending the March for Life in Washington D.C. It was a cold and windy day but I was dressed warmly. I went on a bus and then we took the metro to the area of the Mall where the March began. Since we were early, I went to the Smithsonian to quickly view the African exhibit. I would have stayed longer but didn't want to miss the ceremony. I became separated from the group and didn't connect again until I got back to the bus. We were told it would last 1-1.25 hours but it was 2 hours until the march began. Most of the speakers were pro-life congressmen and some spoke very powerfully. A black minister from Frederick MD spoke about the holocaust done to black people through abortion. Someone asked for all those under 25 to raise their hands and then look to the right and the left where there was a space which represented those of their age group that were aborted. It reminded me of Zambia where the generation of the 30ish age have virtually been eliminated because of AIDS. Cal Thomas recently wrote "Depending on how one counts the number of abortions per year since 1973, more than 50 million people who might have been are not. These were people who, regardless of the circumstances of the women who carried them, had the potential to contribute to the country and to the world. But now they cannot, because they are not." The last to speak at the March were 2 Rabbi's and one blew the shofar-he blew the victory sounds on the shofar.

This is the largest peaceful gathering in Washington D.C. but the mainline media refuse to cover this march. I came to the march about 25 years ago. The opposition was much more vocal and violent at that time.

The end of the march was the Supreme Court Building.

The media didn't approve of the march but God did. As our bus began the drive out of DC there was a complete rainbow that surrounded the bus. The picture doesn't do it justice. It was awesome!
